Testimony from David Soo

Today, we had our last CF meeting for the year 2009. It was a pretty decent party, thanks to God, we managed to buy the food and got some free food!! Anyway, I'll update the pictures and videos in the next post. One of our CF members, David Soo, could not attend the party because he needs to take care of his parents. However, he wrote us his testimony to be shared in CF. So, this is the testimony of the 17 year old boy in KHS. =)

"First and foremost, I would like to express my heart's gratitude towards God for His outpouring and overflowing blessings that He had poured out upon me and my family members for all these years especially financially and His provisions. I would also like to thank you for giving me this privilege to share my testimony."

"As some of you here might know, I am having 2 'casualties' under one roof, whom they are very dear to me. They are none other than my own lovely parents - my mum and my dad. Let me start off with my dad."

"My dad, Soo Chong Ho, had been diagnosed with colon cancer (2nd degree) in the month of April 2009. At first sight, we thought it was just a normal illness faced by humans but things took a 180 degree turn when my dad felt uncomfortable and found it hard to pass motion. After a few rounds of radiotherapy and chemoteraphy as advised by the doctors in Subang Jaya, all cancer cells in the colon subsided and eventually vanished. Days and months went by. Then, in the late September and early October, my dad could hardly feel the strength on his feet. So, we decided to bring him to see the doctor again. The doctor performed "CT Scan" on him and found out that cancer cells had spread to his lower spine which had contributed to his immobility."

"Things became worse when my dad's left kidney was blocked. The doctor again advised him to undergo 10 rounds of radiotherapy to diminish the size of the cancer cells. For the blocked kidney, the doctor had to perform a minor operation on him so as to allow my dad to undergo dialysis. Two days of dialysis went by without any complications. On the third day, while my dad was going to undergo dialysis, some technical problem arises which I did not know what it was. Therefore, dialysis was failed to be carried out on him. The next day, the doctor performed another minor operation to make a "stand" in the kidney and believe it or not, my dad did not need to undergo dialysis anymore. All along, my dad is claiming God's promises from the book of Psalms 118: 17-18 :- I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done. The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
"

"As for my mum, she had slip disc in her right thigh which cause the nerves to be pulling and causing tense in her physical body. Words can't describe how much pain she is undergoing. Day after day, her friends would visit her and recommend some specialist doctors. After trying out so many of them, my mum finally found the right one three days ago. Gradually, she had been improving tremendously for the past three days and I could see that wide watermelon smile she had on her face after so many weeks of pain, agony, tears and distress. For all along, the Lord had been good to her and she is claiming God's promises from the book of 2 Kings 20:5 :- I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you."

"As for me myself, I would like to thank God that He is ever loving and always kind and merciful to answer my mum and dad's prayer requests. Despite all the troubles and time which I had to invest to take care of them, He had been always there to hear me when I call upon Him. For instance, my SPM trials which is held in September (same month my mum and dad was feeling unwell), most of my time spent were taking care of my parents, so I thought to myself that my trials results would not be good. But as one of the days while I was doing my devotions, God had assured me with His promises from the book of Proverbs 3:5-6 :- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Although I studied not much, but true enough, I passed my exams with flying colours. At that moment, I felt God was so real to me the very first time in my entire life. I also would like to thank God that despite all the burdens I had to bear, God had still kept my sanity and control my stress level."

"First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Lee Ah Heng, Miss Heng Yak Koon and Madam Ho for being so supportive to this CF club. Besides that, thank you too for your life touching messages, for it had really impacted and changed my life besides imparting God's love into our hearts. Thank you too for having fun together with us during the ice breaking session."

"Secondly, I would like to thank Yee Thong and the committee members for making this CF a successful club. Indeed, through CF, I have truly learn how to pray, have faith in God and to be bold and courageous in carrying out activities organised in Recess Revolutions. Without CF, I don't think I will have the courage to be able to do RR such as wiping canteen tables, sweeping the canteen floors and picking up rubbish in the school compound."

"Not forgetting too, I want to thank my kind and lovely friends, Isaac Boo and Marshall for always being there to support me when I am down and weary. I want to thank both of you also for always being helpful to me in my times of needs and distress. I also thank you all for interceding and praying on behalf of my mum and dad. Thank you for your time."

"May CF Lives Forever."

Prepared sincerely by,
[David Soo] "

The Stool

It's time for us to think
whether we have really let Jesus
whom we have repeatedly proclaim as our Lord
either in worship songs or in our speech
to be the Lord of our lives! =)

What is mission & what I've learned from Malaysian Youth Missions Conference.

It's been 2 weeks already since I came back from Malaysian Youth Missions Conference called thePlan09. The Conference was AWESOME !! It emphasizes on young people to be FIRED UP 4 mission that GOD has appointed each one of us to do. People from all over Malaysia & other places around the world come together as one worshipping, listen & share what GOD has to say. We really learned a lot from there !

To me mission is not only for Leaders or Pastors, it's for simple men & women like YOU & ME !! GOD doesn't judge your appearance whether you're fit enough to minister or are u capable of leading a group of people. Instead, GOD uses us in HIS own special way, helping us to discover our own GIFTS & TALENTS !! How great is that to hear that we have our own GIFTS & TALENTS !! We may think that our GIFTS & TALENTS are small & not significant, but it's significant for GOD !!

Other than that, MISSION is 'going out of our comfort zone' sometimes to the extent of 'sacrificing our beloved things & family', not that we are force to but we want to !! The reason why we share the GOSPEL is simply because we want to see GOD's name be lifted high & be worshipped. Matthew 18 - 20.

One of the important things that I learned during the Conference is to Depend on GOD in whatever we do in life !! To just hang on there, no matter what happens, believing just in FAITH that GOD will deliver us from problems !! True enough it reminded me of how I lived my live few months back before I came for this Conference. I was leading my own live without realising it. Everything seems to be going well, I was making my own decisions in my life, until a day when my relationship with my friends & family brokened. -After I heard the Speaker said about 'Depending on God', immediately I say sorry to GOD, and within seconds I can feel that burden lifted up from me, & an assurance that GOD has healed my relationship with my friends & family !! How great is that !! :D Amen..!! Few days later after the Conference, I was back in school, and we (my friends & I) started to talk again like how we use to talk. It was Great !!

IMPORTANT NOTE :
we need to let our hearts be broken by GOD, before we can depend & follow GOD whole-heartedly.

Secondly, I've learned to LOVE my country more & more each day. After attending the Conference, I'm convinced that GOD is gonna bless this country with so so so many blessings !! I'm so touched by the Speakers who shared during the Conference. They're mostly Malaysians whom have migrated to other countries before decided to come back to Malaysia again. They had visions, GOD telling them to come back here, because GOD is going to do something great for this country ! There's gonna be revival !

To be honest, I was a really bad person, I used to talk bad about my country alot ! I was that kind of person until I reach the age of 17 years old, my eyes are open.

During form 5, right after my SPM, I went for a mission trip to Manila,Philippines. I was so so sad looking at the situation that they're living in. On that day itself, I asked GOD to forgive me for being a bad citizen, for not feeling appreciate that I'm living in this peaceful & sufficient country. Most of the Filipinos know about GOD, but they forsake GOD..they don't rely on HIM. Then I thought of those Western Countries, 'The Developed Countries'. They are so developed & full equipped with technologies, equipments & even FOOD !! With the basic necessities being provided fully, they forsake GOD, because they have everything. Few days ago, I was reading a passage in Proverbs 30 : 9 "For if I grow RICH, I may deny you & say, 'who is the Lord?' And if I am too poor, I may steal & thus insult GOD's Holy name". This is exactly what I was comparing !!

If we know that our Country is not doing a good job, why don't we stand up & help to fix it so that it'll be on the right track again, instead of sitting back, complaining & not doing A THING !! We don't need to do BIG BIG things to impress others, but just be a good example & do well in small small little things that are really significant to GOD, in where ever we are. There's nothing to LOOSE after all !!

IMPORTANT NOTE :
We need to have a heart for our Country in order to LOVE it !!

The last but not least, "The Harvest is plenty, but Labourers are few", Matthew 9 : 37 - 38. From what I've heard, during the Conference, "GOD is moving in this country mightly". It's TRUE !! I've got a testimony, this happened right after I came back from the Conference. That time I was in Serdang Train Station.

-There's this boy, he was with his group of friends, staring at me quite a long time, but I didn't stared at him. He was holding a piece of paper, then all of the sudden he stand beside me, and started talking to me.........

NOTE : He was talking to me in chinese the whole time, I don't really understand everything, but some....

the Boy ; hey,u're from Kajang rite??
me : yup I'm from Kajang .

the Boy : I have a piece of paper here, it actually an event sheet about church service. Do u want to attend it.?? U will discover the purpose of life, why are u here & ur answers will be answer.
me : (was staring at him - huh??)

then I told him..... "Oh actually I just came back from an event similar to this one"
the Boy still persuaded me to come for it......I was speechless & don't know how to answer him....
few minutes later, train to Kajang came, I was rushing to get in the train to avoid him...hahaha...and I failed, he followed me in the train....leaving his friends in the other part of the train.... still, he asked me whether I want to attend or not...then finally I answered him, erm, "nope"........ Our conversation continues........

me : which church are u from??
the Boy ; the church in sg.chua, near 7-Eleven....

me : Oh I see..... so how long have u attended that church??
the Boy : oh I've attended just few months only....

me : U're high school boy rite ?? have u seen me??
the Boy : nope....

me : are u a Christian??
the Boy : nope I'm a Buddhist.....(remember, he was speaking chinese, and my chinese is just half past six..hahaha...in other words my chinese is bad)

me : (don't really understand him) oh U're a Catholic huh??
the Boy : nope I'm a buddhist ( in english )

me : wow!! I was shocked !! Buddhist?? how did u came to know about God?? u mean u're still Buddhist.....??
the Boy : I just attended the church not long ago.....

me : oh i see.....who lead u there?? and why u go??
the Boy : a Pastor share to me about God, and I find that most of my questions are answered there....so i just attended it.....

me : oh i see....
IMPORTANT NOTE :
From that conversation onwards, I am assured that GOD is really doing something in this country......even a boy like him has the passion to tell others about the Good News, what do u think God expects from us, as Christians???....argh...i regretted how I acted at first !!!!

(but I haven't go and search for him about this yet.....I know he's a high school boy)
