Testimony from David Soo

Today, we had our last CF meeting for the year 2009. It was a pretty decent party, thanks to God, we managed to buy the food and got some free food!! Anyway, I'll update the pictures and videos in the next post. One of our CF members, David Soo, could not attend the party because he needs to take care of his parents. However, he wrote us his testimony to be shared in CF. So, this is the testimony of the 17 year old boy in KHS. =)

"First and foremost, I would like to express my heart's gratitude towards God for His outpouring and overflowing blessings that He had poured out upon me and my family members for all these years especially financially and His provisions. I would also like to thank you for giving me this privilege to share my testimony."

"As some of you here might know, I am having 2 'casualties' under one roof, whom they are very dear to me. They are none other than my own lovely parents - my mum and my dad. Let me start off with my dad."

"My dad, Soo Chong Ho, had been diagnosed with colon cancer (2nd degree) in the month of April 2009. At first sight, we thought it was just a normal illness faced by humans but things took a 180 degree turn when my dad felt uncomfortable and found it hard to pass motion. After a few rounds of radiotherapy and chemoteraphy as advised by the doctors in Subang Jaya, all cancer cells in the colon subsided and eventually vanished. Days and months went by. Then, in the late September and early October, my dad could hardly feel the strength on his feet. So, we decided to bring him to see the doctor again. The doctor performed "CT Scan" on him and found out that cancer cells had spread to his lower spine which had contributed to his immobility."

"Things became worse when my dad's left kidney was blocked. The doctor again advised him to undergo 10 rounds of radiotherapy to diminish the size of the cancer cells. For the blocked kidney, the doctor had to perform a minor operation on him so as to allow my dad to undergo dialysis. Two days of dialysis went by without any complications. On the third day, while my dad was going to undergo dialysis, some technical problem arises which I did not know what it was. Therefore, dialysis was failed to be carried out on him. The next day, the doctor performed another minor operation to make a "stand" in the kidney and believe it or not, my dad did not need to undergo dialysis anymore. All along, my dad is claiming God's promises from the book of Psalms 118: 17-18 :- I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done. The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
"

"As for my mum, she had slip disc in her right thigh which cause the nerves to be pulling and causing tense in her physical body. Words can't describe how much pain she is undergoing. Day after day, her friends would visit her and recommend some specialist doctors. After trying out so many of them, my mum finally found the right one three days ago. Gradually, she had been improving tremendously for the past three days and I could see that wide watermelon smile she had on her face after so many weeks of pain, agony, tears and distress. For all along, the Lord had been good to her and she is claiming God's promises from the book of 2 Kings 20:5 :- I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you."

"As for me myself, I would like to thank God that He is ever loving and always kind and merciful to answer my mum and dad's prayer requests. Despite all the troubles and time which I had to invest to take care of them, He had been always there to hear me when I call upon Him. For instance, my SPM trials which is held in September (same month my mum and dad was feeling unwell), most of my time spent were taking care of my parents, so I thought to myself that my trials results would not be good. But as one of the days while I was doing my devotions, God had assured me with His promises from the book of Proverbs 3:5-6 :- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Although I studied not much, but true enough, I passed my exams with flying colours. At that moment, I felt God was so real to me the very first time in my entire life. I also would like to thank God that despite all the burdens I had to bear, God had still kept my sanity and control my stress level."

"First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Lee Ah Heng, Miss Heng Yak Koon and Madam Ho for being so supportive to this CF club. Besides that, thank you too for your life touching messages, for it had really impacted and changed my life besides imparting God's love into our hearts. Thank you too for having fun together with us during the ice breaking session."

"Secondly, I would like to thank Yee Thong and the committee members for making this CF a successful club. Indeed, through CF, I have truly learn how to pray, have faith in God and to be bold and courageous in carrying out activities organised in Recess Revolutions. Without CF, I don't think I will have the courage to be able to do RR such as wiping canteen tables, sweeping the canteen floors and picking up rubbish in the school compound."

"Not forgetting too, I want to thank my kind and lovely friends, Isaac Boo and Marshall for always being there to support me when I am down and weary. I want to thank both of you also for always being helpful to me in my times of needs and distress. I also thank you all for interceding and praying on behalf of my mum and dad. Thank you for your time."

"May CF Lives Forever."

Prepared sincerely by,
[David Soo] "
